<image:caption>“One Health” – the inextricable connection of the health of animals, people and planet – is represented by no single element as much as water. Whether its access to clean water for livestock and our pets, or the rivers flowing through the heartland in which we live, water’s necessity is undeniable and ubiquitous. Artist Zheng Lu’s series Water in Dripping celebrates the transformative power of water, recognizing it as essential to life itself. Water offers inspiration and strength in its movement and invites self-reflection in its stillness.</image:caption>

<image:caption>After completing the successful program for the Cummins Inc. Global Distribution Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, the company hired Art Strategies to curate art for the headquarters of their business in China. The program includes two site specific commissions and approximately 45 individuals works of art. All of the art was sourced in mainland China and the majority of the artists—but not all—are Chinese. Zheng Lu (Chinese, b. 1978) Tinkling Stream, 2018 — Site-specific commission for the lobby Stainless steel 235 x 520 x 170 cm Zheng Lu created a site-specific sculpture for the lobby composed of Chinese characters taken from the Tang Dynasty poem Reflections on Still Water by Bai Juyi. He is celebrating the power of water and acknowledging that water, like all of nature, is vital to our existence. Water nourishes us physically but mentally it provides inspiration in its activity and self-reflection in its stillness. The artist is honoring the historic literati while pushing their ideas further and into new contemporary forms.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Today Gene B. Glick Company is one of the largest privately held real estate management and development firms in the US, with more than 20,000 units in 12 states. The company's reputation was built on their founder's commitment to integrity, quality construction, excellent service, and superbly maintained communities. In the last year, a new home office was built in Indianapolis, Indiana and Art Strategies was hired to work with their President & CEO on an art program. Focusing on artworks that reflect on the art of building and making, the program helped create an inspiring and comfortable workplace where the company’s ethos is reinforced. <image:title>Corporate Projects - Cummins Inc. Irwin Office Building, Columbus IN (2012-2014)</image:title>
<image:caption>The 1954 Eero Saarinen-designed bank building with a 1973-Kevin Roche designed edition was undergoing renovation so that it could be used to house an important Cummins business unit and a conference center. The buildings were full of mounted textiles and modern furniture. Art Strategies managed the evaluation, conservation, and redeployment of more than 70 ethnographic textiles, the recreation of three 33-feet long textile murals in the likeness of Alexander Girard-designed originals, the creation of an interpretive area in the original 1954 Eero Saarinen-designed bank building, and the evaluation and responsible disposition of 70+ vintage chairs and desks. The textiles were part of the Roche building program and are a reflection of the global workface at Cummins. Therefore, Art Strategies and the IOB team agreed that the reuse of the textile was desirable. The above image is of the most complex of the textile murals originally designed by Girard. The original murals had been on display for 40+ years and were dirty and badly faded—a shadow of their original bright 1970s hues. Working with Material Culture Conservation, a sub of Art Strategies, three murals were created in the likeness of the Girards using primarily Knoll, Herman Miller, and Maharam fabrics. The above mural is composed of 93 individual fabric wrapped wood panels. 23 different fabrics can be found in this piece. From the creation of a plan for these assets through their fabrication or conservation and installation, Art Strategies worked closely with the Cummins project team, the Columbus, Indiana, based architect Todd Williams, and other contractors on the team. <image:title>Civic/Public Projects - I AM INDY (2015 - Present)</image:title>
<image:caption>The "I AM INDY" campaign was a project of Visit Indy, Indianapolis' tourism bureau, with Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc., the entity that operates, maintains, and markets the Cultural Trail. According to Visit Indy, 62% of the 26 million people who visit Indy each year come to see family and friends. Therefore, the goal of the project was to engage residents to ask them to be humbly boastful about the city and invite family and friends to visit. We wanted Indy residents to be stronger Indy ambassadors. Art Strategies was hired to help the partners craft a project plan where people became the "I" in Indy and shared their images and feeling about Indianapolis on social media platforms. Learn more about the project by clicking here. NUVO named this the best new public art project in Indy in 2015. Read more by clicking here.</image:caption>
